Overview
The City of St. James, MN has adopted the following codes:
- 2003 Minnesota Building Code, based on the 2000 IBC, with amendments. Minn. R. § 1305.0011.
- 2003 Minnesota Residential Code, based on the 2000 IRC, with amendments. Minn. R. § 1309.0010.
- 2003 Minnesota Guidelines for the Rehabilitation of Existing Building, based on the 2000 GREB with amendments. Minn. R. § 1311.0010.
St. James, MN City Code § 4.01 Subd.1 (Building Code Adopted).
Per an email sent on November 26, 2020, from Harry Jenness, the City of St. James Building Official, to a PLRB Staff Member, the City of St. James enforces the current MN State Building Codes. A new self-perpetuating ordinance to change the adoption of current codes is being prepared and will be approved shortly.

Commercial Building Code
St. James adopted the 2012 IBC, statewide. Note that adoptions usually come with amendments. So, it is important to review those amendments in addition to the unamended model code.
